Authors of the book – myself Anushka Fernando and Bertie the Pug – will also be ready to sign your copy of Happy Dog Days at the Pug Cafe too. So if you fancy picking up this feel-good, funny tale and get your hands on a special signed copy make sure you head down early to the Waterstones store and bag your copy.
Or you can pre-order your copy ready for collection at the store at Waterstones.
Happy Dog Days at the Pug Cafe tells the true story of how we opened the first ever Pug Café in Guildford at Esquires Coffee back in 2017. Bertie was diagnosed with Hemivertebrae as a puppy, receiving surgery at Fitzpatrick Referrals. He missed out on vital socialisation which led to us setting up the monthly Guildford Pug Meet Up in Stoke Park. This then led to the Pug Cafe which can be read all about in the new book! Its the perfect read for any pug or dog lover and a lovely Christmas present for you or a friend.

The book signing and Pupuccino Bar will be outside Waterstones. To make it safe for everyone to come along please observe socially distancing. Anyone wanting to get their book signed and / or receive a free Pupuccino must get in a socially distanced queue which will be clearly marked. Additional precautions to ensure it’s safe will be in place:
- Please observe social distancing markings in the queue
- Use the hand sanitiser on the Pupuccino Bar
- Do not attend if you are feeling unwell
- Masks are not mandatory but highly recommended
We will also be taking this opportunity to collect for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home which has a special place in our heart (as you’ll read in the book!) so if you would like to donate any spare coins it will be much appreciated. You can find the charity bucket on the bar!

Lastly, some rules for attending include:
- Do bring your friendly, well socialised & vaccinated dog
- Do keep your dog on lead at all times
- Don’t leave dog mess behind – bag and bin it
- One Pupuccino Per Dog
- Don’t bring aggressive dogs – if they harm another dog or person it will be your liability
- No wet or mucky dogs allowed into Waterstones as they don’t mix well with books!
